Nozzle Flow Meter is one of the most frequently used throttling devices.
Flow Nozzle is also called a standard nozzle flow meter, standard nozzle, ISA1932 nozzle. It is a Differential Pressure Flow Meter suitable for high temperature and high pressure fluid measurement.
Flow nozzle, like Standard Orifice Plate, venturi tube flowmeter, and venturi nozzle, belongs to the standard Throttling Device specified by national standards. The pressure loss of the Nozzle Flowmeter is small, so it saves energy, is more sturdy and durable, suitable for high temperature and high pressure fluids, and is widely used in steam flow measurement in electric power, chemical, and other industries.
The flow nozzle design is based on Bernoulli's equation and consists of a convergent section with a rounded profile and a cylindrical throat. Due to its rigidity, the flow nozzle is dimensionally more stable at higher temperatures and flow rates than an orifice.
The flow nozzle is generally used to measure steam flow of steam as well as non-viscous, erosive and high-velocity media. It can be used in a wide variety of applications including steam, air, water, vapour, gas, chemical substances and high temperatures. For applications with erosive media, a hardened inner surface is available.
